Parents & Volunteers
Rebel Wheelers is 100% volunteer-led. From the parents who set up the courts every Saturday morning to the coaches who lead our elite squads, our volunteers are the lifeblood of everything we achieve.
Whether you have a background in sport or just want to lend a hand with the "cuppa and the chat," there is a place for you in our crew.
Volunteering FAQs
How do I get started as a volunteer?
As a parent- and volunteer-led organization, we are always looking for enthusiastic people aged 16+ to help us grow. Under the governance of IWA-Sport, all volunteers must complete a vetting and training process to ensure the welfare of our members.
The requirements include:
Registration: Becoming a member of the Irish Wheelchair Association.
Vetting: Completing a full Garda vetting process.
Training: Attending two 3-hour courses (Code of Ethics and Leadership Training).
By volunteering, you support people with disabilities while gaining valuable experience and influencing positive change in our community.
Is there training provided?
Yes, we provide full induction, including safeguarding and sport-specific training where needed.
Do I need sports experience to volunteer?
Not at all! We need help with everything from administration to court setup.
