Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own sports wheelchair?
Taking part in sport using a "day" chair is not always the ideal scenario due to stability, safety, manoeuvrability. Rebel Wheelers Multi-Sport Club provide specialised sports wheelchairs for our members to use where appropriate.
What are the age limits for the club?
We welcome Rebels of all ages! Our Junior Multi-Sport starts at age 5, while our senior programs cater to adults of all ages and skill levels.
How do I get started as a volunteer?
As a parent- and volunteer-led organization, we are always looking for enthusiastic people aged 16+ to help us grow. Under the governance of IWA-Sport, all volunteers must complete a vetting and training process to ensure the welfare of our members. The requirements include: Registration: Becoming a member of the Irish Wheelchair Association. Vetting: Completing a full Garda vetting process. Training: Attending two 3-hour courses (Code of Ethics and Leadership Training). By volunteering, you support people with disabilities while gaining valuable experience and influencing positive change in our community.
